About Us

We Stand Together

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected not only our businesses, but also so many people across the world, and Mubadala Petroleum stands alongside our shareholder, Mubadala Investment Company, the UAE government, and the international community as we take collective action to respond to its challenges.

The wellbeing and safety of our employees, contractors and those impacted by our businesses are of paramount importance. We currently conduct business in ten countries across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Russia. Critically, Mubadala Petroleum is working alongside all local authorities and closely following international health guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone associated with our businesses.

Hence, in March 2020, our Business Continuity Management plan was activated to ensure all employees across our global offices could work effectively from home. Our technology applications have ensured zero interruptions to business, and as the COVID-19 spread begins to decline in some of our operating regions, we will continue to assess carefully the situation, alongside local authorities, to ensure a safe and phased return to the office when possible.

As an international oil and gas producer, our colleagues and contractors maintaining our operations have witnessed some of the most challenging changes to their working arrangements, including extended offshore rotations, regular testing and quarantine periods. We are proud that our oil and gas assets have demonstrated resilience, with production uninterrupted and, most importantly, our colleagues are all in good health.

Mubadala Petroleum has also led a coordinated effort to support many of the impacted local communities where we operate. Across Southeast Asia, our activities have included supporting local healthcare providers treating COVID-19 cases with monetary donations and medical supplies including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and respirators, as well as contributions of hygiene products, such as hand sanitizers, to under-privileged residents. We also recognized the additional impact and vulnerability caused by the pandemic during the month of Ramadan. I am proud that we were able to extend our support to provide Iftar meals and food supplies for more than 21,000 members from our communities across Southeast Asia, despite the packing and distribution challenges caused by the lockdown.

In Abu Dhabi, our employees made generous voluntary donations to the “Ma'an's Together We Are Good Fund", which was created by the UAE government with a particular emphasis on medical, educational and food aid to those facing health and economic challenges. Our employees across our Southeast Asia offices also made voluntary donations to the Malaysian Medical Relief Society (MERCY Malaysia), Songklanagarind Hospital Foundation in Thailand, the Indonesian National Movement for Foster Parents (GNOTA) and the Islamic Philanthropy Institution (Dompet Dhuafa) in Indonesia. Mubadala Petroleum matched employees’ voluntary donations in both Indonesia and Thailand.

Mubadala Petroleum continues to stand together with the international community in our response to this global pandemic, as we support each other during these challenging times. Health and safety remain our top priority.
