Education and Training

We are involved in many projects ranging from local scholarships for underprivileged students to school facility improvements.

In Thailand, Mubadala Petroleum has been offering scholarships to elementary and high school students from coastal communities in the Rayong province since 2008. Over 2,000 students who lack financial support but are determined to study have benefitted so far and been able to continue their education. In addition, scholarships to underprivileged students from fishermen families support their undergraduate studies in marine resource, environmental management and fishery fields. Most recently, we have conduted a project of school facilities renovation, in rural Bangkok that improved the acadmic experience for the students and reduced the concequences of floods that kids may face at the school.

In Indonesia over 500 elementary students have benefited from school facilities improvements and a Reading Day Progam in Samboja, East Kalimantan since 2013. We have provided scholarships to 100 Polytechnic students from fishermen families in Kotabaru South Kalimantan to pursue higher education since 2015. The students have also received basic safety and communications trainings.

In Malaysia, we have been supporting a local orphanage in Kuala Lumpur providing computer equipment and required training for the students.
